MFH DBR9 fit problem

Guys, I have a small fit problem on my DBR9. I've seen several having been built here - is this how it should be or is this a flaw? I am newish to multimedia models and this is my first Hiro I am actually building, having done only one S27 and one LMM before.

Problem is that it looks to have a too narrow chassis at the rear to go with the body, thus causing a substantial gap between the two parts from the start ot the rear wheel arch right through.

Is this normal - and if so, how did you work around it? I will try to attach pics as well, excuse the quality...

Here's the pics (1st attempt at that...)

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

That's normal!

How to fix it? Good question, you could try putty and "reshape" the chassis but I wouldn't care much about the gap since it won't be seen after assembly...

It wasn't quite so pronounced in mine but I had pretty much teh same thing.

As Dennis says, don't worry about it. When it's all painted black in the wheel wells and put together, it won't be in the slightest bit visible.

If you read Dennis', Sam's and my build threads you will find just about all the issues with this kit and how we worked around them.

Enjoy! It really is a great kit despite some if its irritations - after all, it is an Aston ;) :)

Thanks guys! I was thinking much along the same lines... Scanned through your builds but never saw this specifically mentioned, therefore the question. But it was really just a scan, so I may have missed it...

But will definately read them thoroughly before tackling the rest - thusfar I only put together the <insert favourite explicite here> rollcage. A bit of a battle, but done at last!

I had exactly the same problem! Here´s how I solved it:

First, sand down the area marked with red arrows (Inside the body)...This will give you a tighter fit between the chassis and the body. Then, use some putty to fill the space marked with a blue arrow. I recommend to leave a 1 mm gap between the chassis and body. You will need this space to apply primer, paint and carbon fiber.

Hope this info helps! :icon16:

Was definately planning on filling the bottom corner parts, which would be visible when turned over. Thanks for the red arrows!
