Ignition Switch Replacment?

I need some help on installing a new ignition switch. It's for a 96 transport. Step by step would be great. How do I get wheel off and what about air bag?
Can this be done from home or should I take to a shop?

Looks hard. Here is the '99 manual. Your's will be close, but may vary: :nono:

There is also a proceedure that may be easier when the cylinder can be turned as opposed to when its stuck. I'll post that if you need it.
