If you have a fuel injected engine you can make an air tornado for about a dollar. Normally I guess they go for 50-60 in stores. I picked up 1.2 mpg hwy with a lighter engine loading (more power) very apparent when installed on a 94 Aerostar.
Take the cooling fan from an old computer (burned out ones are free at computer service centers). Pop the fan blade assembly off the fan motor. Drill out the center cap of the fan blade assembly. Glue fan blade assembly across intake opening leading out of air filter box with superglue. Clean the surface with alcohol if dirty or oily. You can trip the blades to fit the fan into unusually shaped air boxes. Make sure it is glued securely as it would be a very bad thing if a piece makes it into the engine.
