Transmission Flush

Hey guys, I bought a used 97 Conti for a great price with only 77,000 miles on it. I have changed the engine oil and had a fuel injector service. The dealership inspected the car and suggested a transmission flush. Now the transmission does shift a little hard, so its plausible. However I have read many articles about transmission flushes have there is no definite conclusion. I am uncertain if the car has been regularly maintained. Should I go for the flush or just get a transmission service?

I would say that at 77k miles, you're about 25k overdue for that trans.
I'm sure you've asked because you've heard the downside already.. that would be total trans failure from band slippage.
Personally I would make an effort to clean that trans up in an effort to maximize it's useful life. If you're worried (I would go for it) about the flush, play it safe and just drop the pan, clean it out, watch carefully for foreign materials, change the filter... and leave the cooler and torque converter alone this time around.
Next time, maybe at 100k miles.. you might feel better about doing a full flush.
