'86 Chevy K20 headlights??

I recently bought an '86 Chevy K20 4x4 6.2L Auto,atic and it has the dual headlights. I was wondering if I can convert it to the single headlights and how? Do I just need to buy new bezels, parking lights assemblies, and headlights? Will the high beam work on the single headlights as well? I use to have an '86 model K20 before but it was already single headlight and I liked the looks of the single headlights better. I plan on doing some fixing up on this truck and changing the gears out for some higher gears(don't have no intentions of working it), the truck has 4:10's in it right now and the friend I bought it off of said it was getting about 18 MPG while towing about 3 tons behind him. I want a little better fuel economy than that but decent power as well. I figure something in the range of 3:55's may be it maybe even 3:23's like my old truck was. It had a 350 in it though but still got 22 MPG and had plenty of power to turn the 35" tires on it, just no power to haul any amount of weight up hills.

you will need everything

a donor truck

entire doghouse minus the fenders

81-87

also some 88-91 1 tons and blazers were the old body with the even later style grille and such

most ppl want this later quad light front because the single large headlights are not as nice looking

81 and 82 are parking/turns in the bumper

83-up are in the grille

a truck this heavy will never be great on fuel mileage

ratio change will do very little to change it

3.23 and 3.55 are so close to the same that it will not make any noticeable differenc ein mileage unless you drive it ALOT

I believe I can get a lot better fuel econemy out of it by changing the gears from 4:10's to something like the 3:23's. I had a truck previously that got excellent fuel mileage before, I should also say that the 22MPG was on backroads and it got about 28-30MPG on highway. I know it was a gasoline engine but I am positive I can get just as good fuel economy out of the diesel engine as I can the gasoline, I can tell a huge diffeence just from driving it around town compared to my other gasoline engined vehicles. I have not drove it out of town on any long trips to really get a good idea of what the MPG may actually be while not towing. I am sure I am getting better than 18MPG while empty, I was only stating what the guy told me I bought it from while he was towing about 3 tons behind it. Also, a friend of mine claims I only need the bezels, parking lamp assemblies, and the headlight assemblies to convert. No need to change radiator support out cause they is almost no difference in the dual and single headlight radiator supports.
I will take your word for it and do some more research before getting the stuff to try it though.
