T-5 Rebuild

My husband has to rebuild his transmission.. but we are having a hard time finding somewhere that sells the internal shafts that we need. We have thought of a junk yard, but given the trouble he's had, he's rather just rebuild it. And we don't have the money for a new one, so rebuilding is a good option for us.

Any suggestions as to where we could look?

Thanks!

Go to www.corral.net . The answer to your question should be in their Tech forums. I dont know the answer myself because I skipped the T5 and went straight to an aftermarket tranny.

Do you still need help?

Hanlon Motor Sports in PA has LOTS of t-5 parts and is a great guy. I rebuilt my T-5 several years ago with one of his re-build kits. I used a manual I bought from him but I think he has a DVD on the re-built, too. It was going bad at 55,000 when I rebuilt it. I sold it with 130,000 and tranny was still going strong. His website is: www.hanlonmotorsports.com (http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com)

Second Hanlon Motorsports - He is a great guy and has lots of T-5 parts. I used his rebuild kit several years ago. Everything is set by shims so you need some sort of micrometer to measure clearances. I used a good vernier caliper and it was sufficient for me. I rebuilt at 55,000 miles and it was still going strong at 130,000 when I sold it.

OldSVT - Thanks for the info on Hanlon. That looks like a great source. My next T5 rebuild will be done myself and I'll keep them in mind.
From another Old Guy, thanks for posting (twice!!).
