Check engine light

Can anyone explain check engine light code p1507 for a 2000 Ford Explorer 5.0 engine?

Per the factory service manual:
P1507 - Idle Air Control (IAC) Underspeed Error

This DTC is set when the PCM detects engine idle speed that is less than the desired rpm.

Possible causes:

IAC circuit open
IAC circuit short to PWR
VPWR to IAC solenoid open
Air inlet is plugged
Damaged IAC solenoid
Damaged PCM.-Rod

I have the same code on a 1998 Mercury Mystique (Ford Contour). Bought an IAC at autozone and will be replacing it tomorrow. If that doesn't work, any other ideas? BTW, all the input on here helped me decide what to do... thanks!!!

So did replacing the IAC make a difference? What symptoms, if any, are you experiencing? Also, which engine does you Mystique have?
