Does any body know if there is a difference in hp between the a/t and m/t. and if so how much?

there would be a little bit of a hp difference with the manual over the auto, but not that much at all.

Auto with a shift-plus is pretty close though. I love it.

15% power loss through automatic tranny, 8-10% through manual.

with the price of gas you can't overlook the milage increase of the manual either.

although the shift plus provides much quicker shifting in the automatics, it still doesnt make up for the manuals higher gear ratios, and that is what really matters for the quicker acceleration

:banghead:what is the point of owning a car with anything at all done to it if it is an auto. when i hear a car coming and it sounds nice then when it stops and starts again and you can tell its an auto. i think to my self why in the hell did they waste the money to make the car sound like crap. its standard or nothing for me. im even swappin out an auto in a 75 pickup because what is the point of having an auto in a 300 hp truck there isnt.

It still comes down to preference, personally I would rather drive a manual anyday. But at the same time, you can't argue with all the drag cars that run autos. It just comes down to drive what you like.

that is very true i was first taught how to drive in a manual. it was an 86 f150 4 speed with a inline 6. it has always been pounded in my head if you cant drive standard you shouldnt drive but some people just cant get the concept down or if the do their legs mind and hand dont work as one.

The only time I can see automatic being useful are on drag cars with the 2 speed powerglides.
I love standard, and will not drive an automatic if I can help it. I feel like such a tard when I get into a friends car and I drop my left foot, expecting to hit a clutch, but it hits the floor instead.
:P I learned how to drive stick on an old Jeep CJ-5 haha. Three speed manual for the win. :P
