I'm about done with this van...won't start in warm weather?!?!

After a multitude of problems in the last week, we have Dicovered that the van will start dozens of times at night, when it is cool out, say 50 degrees or so, and early in the morning. Last suscessful starts were at 8:30AM. Went out at 10:45AM to leave, and no start. By this time it is 80 degrees outside and the sun is shining right down on the van. What would cause it to start in cooler weather, but not in warmer? It clicks, no cranking at all. Thanks!

What year, engine and mileage?

Have you checked for voltage at starter when trying to start. Try tapping the starter as you try to crank engine> Sounds like a bad starter or battery cables.

Have you had any problems with the gauges or instrument cluster? Could be a bad joint in cluster. Do a instrument cluster search.

Have you had the battery load tested.
Have you checked the starter relay in the Power Distribution Center?

Starter and battery cables are all new, as of 3 days ago. Starter has been taopped immediately before attempt to start. It did drive right after the installs. Ever since then has been problems, and the van has been started, but not driven, since then.

We had a blown IOD/Mem fuse from when my brother left the key turned and the battery connected while pluggingin in a new radio. Replaced the fuse, and problem fixed, none of those problems since.

Have you had the battery load tested.
Battery passed stand-alone testing, but has not been tested loaded. Starter also passed stand alone testing, but not loaded. We do not have a light to check for power to it.

Have you checked the starter relay in the Power Distribution Center?
Starter relay is fine, swapped with an identical relay with the same result...will start at 2:30AM, but not 11AM lol....

If it is clicking, but the starter won't crank, battery is defective. Assuming new starter is functioning properly.

battery and starter are fine.

Shop found the problem, aftermarket ignition kill switch that had been deactivated before we got the van somehow came back to life. Apparently it had a short and was disarmed a long time ago, but not properly. When it was triggered to come back on, since it originally had a short, it would sometimes start and sometimes not. They removed it for me :)
