Profile the car!
1) How old is the car?
2) How many miles are on the car?
3) What was the last routine maintenance performed in the last two years?
4) Are you on schedule for maintenance?

(a) Start with plugs,wires,and filters.

Note: You don't want tobe chasing down problems and fault codes, because of
forgotten Maintenance.

90% of the times, just doing the routine maintenance, can weed out + prevent problems.

Also post if the check engine light is on. Get a free scan at a parts store and post the 4 digit code here.

check engine is not on, I had bought the car 7 mos ago, and then I was told that everything was new, it all looks good, but maybe I will do a few things and see what happens, it has done this slipping or whatever since I bought it, but took as a taurus thing since I have yet to meet to one that does not do that, but this new thing when I stop is what has me thinking, it's almost like the brakes are not working for a sec, and the car goes forward but stops right away, kinda a jumping makes me think it is going to die but it has not yet, not sure if this could be a problem with the trans or not, as fords are something I just don't know anything about, lol but thank you to all who are giving some input in here!

Your description sounds a bit like a misfire. Danielsatur's suggestion of performing a tune up, consisting of spark plugs and wire would be a good place to start. Again, this is based on my interpretation of your description.

If your Taurus were a 1996 or newer, it would be a bit easier to verify a misfire with a good scan tool, but with your 1994, it will take a bit more investigation.

If this is quite repeatable, you could try pulling plug wires, one at a time, and see if you can find one that does not cause a change in performance. You'll want to pull these with the engine shut off to avoid the 25kV shock. If you find one that does not seem to degrade the performance, then you need to determine if this is due to the spark plug, plug wire, fuel injector, or compression in that cylinder.
