We recently purchased a '06 uplander and both my wife and I notice the headlights flickering at night. I seem to notice it a little more when you excellerate or do something that takes more electrical power like put the windows up. Is this normal or do I have a little problem headed for a big problem?

No problem at all. This is a common issue with many GM models over the past few years. In fact there is a TSB that covers it, TSB01-06-03-005. There is a "kit" ( actually a washer and a screw,) that resolves the issue. It is for the ground for the alternator. The kit can be purchased for anywheres from $5.00 to $7.00 at your local GM parts dept.

Yes, I installed that kit on my 99 Montana and it resolved the issue. However my 06 Buick Terraza had the same problem and since it was still under warranty i brought it in. The dealer replaced the voltage regulator and it has fixed the problem. Try the kit first though as i'm sure its less expensive.

What exactly comes in this kit? Is it a special washer and screw or can I just run my own ground to the alternator to correct the problem?
