How do you know if your EGR valve is going bad? And if it is how do change it or is there a way of fixing it?
Thanks in advance.

A faulty EGR valve will usually set a check engine light and trouble code.

Yeah, unlike EGR valves of the past, our EGR valves have a sensro built into them that tells the ECU how open or closed the EGR is. So if the ECU commands that the EGR open 35%, and it sees that is is 60% open it will set the code. With this sort of feedback loop, I doubt its possible for the EGR to fail and the ECU to not set a code.
