Is this radio a factory installed radio? Have you taken it out of the dash yet? Need alittle more info.

What is involved in the 2002 removal of the factory Bose system with CD not working. I heard after putting another unit back in you have to take it to the dealer to have it programmed to work all the bells and whistles going through the system or nothing will work. Is this true?

Well,

When i pulled the cd player out of my TB i didnt have that problem, but i didnt have the Bose system. The reason that you have to take it to the Dealer is becase the Bose system has an anti-theft device that is built into it. Most of the time when you pull it out, it will disable your started and then you will not be able to start your vehicle. Now i am not 100% sure if this is going to happen to you when you take it out, but i would call the dealer first to make sure.

if your going to put on an aftermarket radio, you need a special wire harness, this harness has a box that has a speaker so it emits all your sounds as well as to keep your radio on as you shut off your truck and shuts off when it is open. crutchfield sells them for about around 180.00 or higher for the bose system. going to your local autoparts store is out of the question since they do not work.

The right side speakers just all of a sudden quit working? "Sometimes they cut on for a minute" and there is no bass only treble? What could be the problem and how do I fix it?

I just had my system replaced Tuesday, It cost me $330 for the swap and $90 labor to replace. It had cd tape and amfm bose. My complaint was the display went out and none of the buttons would work and that red light was continuos on instead of the occasional flash every 10 sec. Well the day before i take it to the dealer it works fine. I dont care the new replacement is in and ill be not worrying about it getting stuck on a cd and cant play anything else! lol Im thinking 13 years is long enough life for that system But man its worth every penny.
