transmission problem?

I heard from Gary today while a friend was down looking at a car and he mentioned these cars have weak transmissions? any insight

I believe what he was referring to is Clutch cable set-up issues

I am not aware of any transmission issues.

I ran the 3550 in my 96 Mystic Cobra track car (435 rwhp) for years with no problems at all (the GTRA will not stress the trans). However, if you are still running the "stock" shifter in this trans, your begging for problems. Any good aftermarket shifter wil prolong the life of the 3550. A good choice is the Hurst billitt pro, pro 5.0 or TriAx... missed shifts will kill the trans (and engine... over rev).

I am using a TriAx in my GTRA Panoz (5.0 L / 320 rwhp/ 310 tq .. Carb set up). Shifts are sharp and firm.
