Hello,

I am changing the manafold gaskets on a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero with a 3.4 liter in it and need to know the torque settings for the rocker stud bolts and the valve cover bolts can anyone help me ?

Thanks all,

Jack

Welcome to AF.

Torque the rocker arm bolts to 124 in. lbs. on the first pass, ensuring that the pushrods are properly seated in the lifter cups. Listen for the sound of oil being compressed from the lifters. You may need to make several passes to ensure that the proper torque has not been compromised by the lifters bleeding down. After this initial step, torque the bolts an additional 30 degrees.

Valve cover bolts are 89 in-lbs.

Thank you BNaylor,

This is just what I needed, by the way you have some nice cars I have a few Fiero's that would be screamers with the 3.8 supercharged engine in them.
There is a gentelman here in California that has this engine swap C.A.R.B. approved if you use the components that West Coast Fiero makes.
