Transmission, Torque Converter, or Transfer??

Well, awhile back I had posted some problems I had with my '94 JGC Limited 5.2L and got no real good thoughts about my problem. Anyway, I decided I would try once again and see what people may think my problem may be.
I have a noise that sounds like it is coming from the front end or maybe right under my feet, I talked to plenty of local mechanics that just have no clue, even after a few have drove the vehicle. A few mechanically inclined friends and myself were talking about the Jeep and even they drove it and their thoughts are: Torque Converter going bad or the sensor for the torque converter or the front ring gear is split in half.
Reason why they think it the torque converter is the transmission hesitates going into gear and sometimes slips, not much slipping going on though. Just hesitates going into gear after dropping it in drive quite a bit. Also the front ring gear thought came from a guy that his brother was running one size tire about 1/2" bigger than all the others, which I also am doing and he said his brothers ring gear split in half and made a god aweful noise from the front end. So, this person actually thinks both could be the problems with noise and vibration. Vibration happens at high speeds of about 55 or 60 on up.
The other friend said the sensor for the torque converter could be lose and the torque could be hitting it causing the noise and also not reading properly causing the hesitation going into gear. I can usually drop the tranny selector back into 1st and it does not hesitate at all though. I am usually pretty good figuring this stuff out myself if it is engine related but I know squat about the transmission.
I had also thought it could have been the transfer case that was going bad that was causing the noise and vibration. Anyway, at the moment I do not have the cash(bought an older truck that I plan on fixing up recently) and was hoping that somebody may have a very good idea of what the problem may be from experience, that way I can try to fix it myself instead of taking it to a good mechanic.
I know I need to get all 4 tires the same also, that would help but not solve my problem right now, I believe the damage has been done and needs correcting. Amazing how a single tire 1/2" to big may cause this issue. Oh, they are the same exact tires but the older ones had wear on them compared to the newer tire which makes up for about the 1/2" difference.
Hopefully with more information and some of the thoughts and ideas I have gave somebody will be able to give me some good help. One last thing for now, where is the sensor for the torque converter located. I have looked in my Haynes manual(junk, doesn't go into tranny to much except for removal and basic service) and it doesn't give me a clue of where it is at and I have not even seen one for sale at part stores, I had even called and they said it is not equipped for this vehicle.
