Yeah the title pretty much says it all. I'm not sure why it gets such bad mileage.

See if your o2 sensor is tossing a code. that can affect gas mileage as well...

Just curious. What is terrible gas mileage? When was it tuned up? How many miles on it? Any Codes? More info would be helpful to get you on the right track.

Well its getting around 10 to 12 mpg.. It was tuned up not to long ago.. (still paying some of that off) No codes no service engine soon light its just sucking gas like a beast...
Oh yeah and about 196,000 miles on it

Is the thrmostat stuck open, not letting the engine heat up? If it was tuned up I'm assuming an air filter & fuel filter were changed. Is the tranny going into overdrive?
I know I'm asking a lot of questions but just trying to get a feel for what is going on.

How's the car running? Poor gas mileage usually equals poor engine performance. What method are you using to calculate MPG? Do you know the capacity of your tank? Also factor in your driving habits. I get 20 in city with my 90 3.1 but the wife says I could've been Miss Daisy's chauffer Im so slow...

That is what we get with ours, 93 3.1. We get 27.5 MPG on long road trips. She gets around 21-24 MPG commuting to work, she has to climb up a 12 mile stretch of 6% grade coming home every night.

Ok i just went and swapped out the Fuel Filter. It looked as if it hadn't been replaced at all... That and I Changed out the PCV Valve not sure if that will help but it looked like it needed a replacing.. Yeah so maybe this will help with the mileage a little bit.
