I have a friend that has a dog that rides in the front seat with its head in her lap, and has a tendency to shift her gearshift when she is least expecting it. She said that of all of the cars she has looked at, only the Toyoto Scion has the gearshift other than on a console between two bucket seats (apparently the Scion has it on the dashboard)
Are there any other makes or models that has it anywhere else (on the steering wheel column, on the dashboard, or whatever)?

It is a smart dog.
I presume the dog is laying next to the console shift lever and finding it uncomfortable moves and bumps the lever.
It is a moot point now because she went ahead and bought a toyoto scion which was the only car she found with the shift other than on a console between the seats.

Yes, and if at all possible a bench seat in the front rather than two buckets
