After exhaustive searches and peacemeal results :banghead: I decided this may not be a bad idea. I am looking for a list of basic replacement parts ( OEM or non OEM when ok ) before I go ahead and do a complete tune-up. With the wealth of knowledge on this site I will rely wholly on the feedback this list generates as I am sure will many others. I was able to find a few of these in other threads but a central thread done right could be a great HOF candidate.

The stats - 95 Rodeo, 3.2l, AT, 108k.

The needs -
Plugs
Wires
Water pump
TB - OEM only
TB tensioner
Tranny fluid
Tranny filter
Tranny hoses
Oil ( weight and brand )
Oil additives
Oil filter
Anti-freeze and mix for summer and winter blend
T-stat- OEM only
Radiator
Rad additives
Rad hoses
All under hood belts
Fuel additives
Brake pads
Rotors
Alternator
Tires
Preferred online parts stores

Did I miss anything? If so please add. If we can get good responses to this I will put together a list naming the top two suggested for each part as well as brands/parts to avoid and post it for all to see. Please be sure to list if your a Gen I or Gen II platform. Thanks.... :smokin:

i'm typing this with a broken set of fingers, so bare w/me. first off, and very important for your truck, you need to find out if it's a '95 or 95.5 year - cause there are differences.

i have a '97 3.2l v6, same engine as the 95.5yr - what i use is written in bold.

The needs -
Plugs - NGK non-platinum
Wires - mine has coil packs
Water pump - OEM ONLY
TB - OEM only
TB tensioner - OEM
Tranny fluid - DEX III - currently Maxlife ATF
Tranny filter - NAPA
Tranny hoses -Gates rubber

Oil ( weight and brand ) - Rotella synthetic diesel/gas oil 5w-40; HIGHLY recommended by a long time Isuzu engine/mechanic specialist for protective/cleaning properties. can be found at walmart in 1 gallon jug

Oil additives - NONE

Oil filter - I ONLY use OEM Isuzu, Napa Gold, PureOne, or currently K&N. DO NOT use Fram on this engine!
Anti-freeze - i use the old green stuff

T-stat- OEM only - do NOT use anything else

Radiator If that is original radiator, keep VERY good eye on it. I had to replace mine 1.5yrs ago

Rad additives i don't use any

Rad hoses be sure to check ALL of them at this age, not just the big obvious ones

All under hood belts - either Napa or Advanced auto

Fuel additives - I use heet sometimes in the winter; otherwise a bottle of techron every now and then is good
Brake pads - currently, carquest gold heavy-duty

Rotors - mine are still original at 184k

Alternator -DEFINITELY OEM, BOSCH or NAPA - do NOT skimp on this part; these trucks love good clear voltage and eat most alt's alive

Tires - LOVED my bridgestone Revo's on this truck, they road great with superb traction in all types of weather/terrain. my next set of tires will either be Revo's or Firestone Destination M/T's

Also look at:

fuel filter - Napa part
PCV Valve - OEM only $7/part
Air filter - For this you CAN use Fram with excellent results, they do produce fantastic air filters, just not oil filters

Keep us posted if you need more info

Also, fwiw, post me your cold max pressure psi that's listed on your tires, i will give you VERY good advise as to what to set that truck to for the best mpg/handling.

Now you have me curious...

Max pressure is listed at 34 psi. They are Hoosier tires (I can't believe everyone does not run Hoosiers - they are by far the best performing tires I have experienced; just don't look at the price tag...).
Fill me in!

660Ryder....I don't remember if you're running a 1st or 2nd generation rig, but with either truck, if your tires say 34 max COLD psi, set your tires to exactly 34psi COLD pressure....it will not harm them to go over 34psi once you're driving on them.

If you're running your truck at anything less then 32psi, you're mpg will suffer as will handling, etc....through the years I've found my truck responds the best at 40-42psi cold pressure when running 6-ply tires; right now I have 8-ply tires with psi set at an even 50 on all 4......corners, handles GREAT, with very even tread wear.

Years ago I ran my truck at 32psi, till Discount said that was not the greatest idea and upped psi to 36 rear/38 front....drastic difference in overall traction, and mpg improved...when I switched to bigger tires, psi requirement had to be adjusted for best handling.

IMHO, these trucks are too heavy for anything less then 34psi
