Trans Sport cruising speed

I wonder what would be the optimal (for MPG) cruising speed for this type of vehicle.

I have the 3.1 TBI engine on mine but a figure for the 3.8 engine won't hurt at all ;)

After what I have read, the 3.8 engine is better than 3.1 in all ways. My experience with the 3.8 is that optimal crusing speed is not more than 120 km/h, and best is 90-100 km/h for lowest fuel cunsumption.

I found out about the 3.8 engine just after I bought this TS 3.1 TBI.

So far, so good but it seems that it doesn't matter much if it's at 100Km/h or 160Km/h.

Recently I was pushing it up to 170Km/h on the highway and got some oil consumption for the first time since I got this car. That's why I'm wondering what would be the "sweet spot" on these type of vehicles...

I mean the optimal cruising speed/engine rpm for best mileage, torque and handling.

That is almost what I would have said..although I would have ranged 90-130Km/h. The best mileages I have realized with my 3.8 were always when I drove highways at speeds of 115-125km/h , that is around 75-78 mph; 9.1 l/100km or slightly above 30 mpg (imperial gallon), so a bit above 25 miles per US gallon...
