Okay, I have had this idea on my mind for a while. But I just never got around to actually thinking if it was possible. Now that I have the time, I am going to create a S-10 ZR2 out of the AMT-Ertl S-10 kit. But I am going to make it an X-cab and lift it to give it the ZR2 stance. I love the ZR2 so I want to create a model of it. It wont be the new style grill but around the 1995-1996 range. Do you guys and girls think this is a trick idea? I am looking forward to it.

Yeah its a good idea but i think you will realize as i did that even the simplest mod takes ALOT of work to make it look right. If you are making the extended cab there will be months of work to properly fit everything on the frame. Im not trying to discourage you, its just that i ruined several kits with "easy" mods to them and i wanted to point out that it may be very difficult to compleate well. Hope it turns out good and post picts if you finish it.

Yup , I see what you mean, Its kinda just a project I want to fool around with, maybe extending the frame somehow? Just to see if its possible. Or I can switch around different frames, but really I am just going to play around with it.

Fullbloodchop01: I always make sure I have a clean, organized work station to work on. I always check over my parts and everything.:D

Perry's Resin Replicas made an S-10 extended cab body a while back and I remember that the frame had to be stretched accordingly so you're on the right track already! :)

Sounds good, although I have no idea what the ZR2 looks like. My mate has 2 of the S-10 extremes, they look quite nice but I don't like the engine. Doing custom work on models (plastic especially) can sometimes be very hard. If you make a mistake you may not be able to get rid of it, or it might become a pain.
I know I will have a hard time making my Calsonic into the car I want, it will also be my first time using putty. So look out for a really ugly looking skyline coming your way! :D

Im having a hard time posting pictures right now. But if you go onto ebay or a dealership page you can check them out. The ZR2s from the factory come lifted 3inches higher, and wider than the regular s-10s.

To post pictures, goto ; http://www.automotiveforums.com/upload There you may upload your pictures but they must be JPEG only and under 100KB. Then copy the Url to your post and put the IMg tags around it.
I know those trucks now, i've seen a couple around on 4X4 sites.
