5!!! This car is great. I already typed everything I thought in the "Gallardo Press Folder Pics" thread... This is my 2nd favorite Lambo. :D

I don't care what you all say, this car is gorgeous. I like this more than the Cala. This beats the hell out of the 360. The front end is gorgeous, and every line on the car blends together beautifully, including the squarish rear. It's not what I anticipated, it's better. I love it. The beast Lamborghini since... the Murcielago.
Thats a good start Supercar_Man. :D
I will give it a 4 though. The Murciélago is 5! :D

Although I like this car its design is not amazing like the countach design was. I believe Lamborghinis have gone a little soft. We will never again see inovation that designers like Gandini can bring. And to me thats sad.

I agree that the Countach was an amazing design for it's time. I wasn't following Lamborghini when it was out, but it wasn't popular like the Murcielago was it? I think the Murcielago design is nowhere near 'soft.' And the Gallardo is almost as original and gorgeous. I don't think there is anything sad about Lamborghini's diesgining.

When you said it is obciously better than the Murcielago, you made it sound like the Gallardo is so superior to the Murci and that the Murci is on a lower level... I just wasn't sure what you were trying to say.

I think what he meant by "obviously" was that since his previous statement about "the Gallardo being the best one yet" stated his opinion that the Gallardo was the best, all other Lambos including the Murcielago would not be better than it. For example, if I were to say that all oranges are orange, then "obviously" there are no purple oranges. Does that kind of make sense? I don't think he was implying that the murcielago was "obviously" worse off than the Gallardo.

AND NOW BACK TO LAMBORGHINI TALKING!:D IMHO I would take an Evo 6/7/8, Scooby or a Skyline over a Corvette or Camaro if I had the choice. Driven a Corvette and it never liked the corners, cool getting the tail out but not a rural country lane, the Evo 7 on the other hand, WOW!! what a beast of a car, on the track and the road, that thing can move!! My mate who owns one was taking it to Crail Raceway and we got in several races on the way up with a Boxster, a 360 and a 911 Turbo.
The 360 handled sharp but couldn't compete with the wee pocket rocket with 4 doors with a sub and amp in the boot. In fact the sub gave the car more progression to slide!!
The Boxster was easily beaten however, we think the driver never really tried that hard in case he wrecked.
The 911 though, now that was fun, that thing can shift, unfortunately so can my mates Evo, close fought race for about 7 or 8 miles and then the Radar started going nuts, sure enough the 911 pulled away at a rapid rate, but, later on down the road he got pulled. Think he got off lightly as we saw the cops checking out his car and even saw him and his car at the track within a few hours of us getting there.
Man that was a fun day......
Umm what's this topic about again?!
PS The Evo is tuned by Ralliart to 340bhp I believe (as well some other mods he's done) and has been delimited and can (according to him) hit about 170mph+.

I saw nothing wrong with that post by Texas, it was in no way saying anything offensive. All it's saying is in his view BMW's are cars not associated with ricers, japanese sports cars however are, the integra, the skyline, the rx, the civic etc...
I think if you asked most people to define a ricer's car, a japanase marque would be the one mostly spoken. Nothing was meant by that post of his and I think you need to chill, ignore the REAL idiots on here who don't know shit and just get on with having a discussion not a debate. :)

Well, the Gallardo is a very very nice car, better than the Calà, but I think that's too AUDI-influenced.I think a lot of them will be sold, but from another point of view, I prefer the Jalpa, that was a pure Lambo. But I'm also happy for the future of the brand, here comes a true challenger for 360 Modena!

I know people, I know......Maybe my english is not to correct but I know Lamborghinis quite well.....I was saying that obviously the GALLARDO will be a great challenger for 360.I put the Calà picture only because I mentioned that car and the photo was taken by myself at the Lamborghini show "Nel segno del toro" in Romano d'Ezzelino (ITALIA).Here I saw that Calà and I must say that car is better in photos that in real life...;) Sorry for my English, Marco

I don't care much for the gallardo and I'm a huge fan of Lamborghini. What happened to the radical and aggressive design once offered by the countach and diablo. The front and rear view looks too similar to other makers - nothing special. It's way too smooth. I don't think the gallardo will deliver the same jaw dropping reactions from on-lookers like the countach and diablo do. The design looks like something Nissan thought up. Sure, it's more "futuristic" looking, but it no longer has the look of the ultimate exotic sports car. The magic is gone. With that said, I still would have bought one if lambo would have at least given it the scissor style doors. Then, I could have looked forward to getting out of my car at gas stations. The scissor style doors would have said, "Hey! I know it doesn't look like it but I really do drive a lamborghini! Just look at the doors!"

robh917, I really agree with you on the Gallardo but you must recognize that scissor-doors must be an exclusive gift for the top-Lamborghini model. For a Gallardo I think you'll pay something like $ 100.000 less than a Murci so there's something you can't have...;)

I will say that the Gallardo is not agressive enough to really fit in with the top models... But that is why it isn't a top model. I think everyone will be happy again when they release all the next Murcielago models.

I agree, the design and looks of the new lambos (both Merci and Gil) are not aggresive or beautiful enough compaired to the Diablo, Countach and even the Miura . I still love them though simply because of all the technical enhancements and improvements in terms of ease of use. From what I read in different magazines the Baby Lambo is def one of the easiest to handle Lambo's yet - so basically a few steps backwards in style but a leap forward in overall quality and accessibility.
I'd still get a Diablo though ;)

The title asked "do you like the gallardo?" I've never seen a Gallardo so I came in to take a look, I don't like it and I wish I could get back the 5 minutes of my life that where taken from me whyle I was looking at it.

Actually am having a special order gallardo to be delivered to my house in January .
Guys when you buy a lambo . you dont care of the look (at least me). you care of the power and handling that this car will provide you . These cars are costly not because the design or the car body . Its costly cos of the engine specification and handling that this car is gonna provide you and the name of the car .
That car is awsome no matter how it looks like . it will do from 0-60 in 4 sec flat . wonderful torque in engine . Guys get real and think befor you say that you dont like it . and plz when you say i dont like it say that you dont like the look not the Car it self :loser:
you dont pay 170k for the look of the car . if i look forward the look i`ll better buy a replica

4 !! I checked out the beautiful orange one they unveiled tonite at a big get together at Fox Valley Motorcars ! We sat in it and I kept telling me wife to say the word and we'll trade here Ferrari 355 Spider for it.
We only give it a 4! since it isn't convertable in any way !
This is a better looking car than the Murcie and for $120000 less and nearly as powerful, they are selling like mad !!
So glad to see Lamborghini get a clue and make something better looking than the Murcie (I give that car a 2.5,,but my Diablo Millennium Roadster gets a 5!) and much less expensive.
Price matter..looks matter.
Looks matter the most to me and soon I'll test drive a Gallardo and most likely slap down a deposit to wait list myself for the topless model in 2005
..slag..
