How old is your starter or alternator? Do you have cab lights, dash lights, etc?

hello,i have a new battery, alt. is fairly new,and the starter is good,i know this because i ran a jumper from the battery to the starter as it said to do in the haynes manual,it started right up when i did that.im wondering if i have the wires on the trans hooked up wrong, and isnt there a way to jump the neutral safety switch,im thinking thats where my problem is,this all stated when the clutch locked up,removed the trans, new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing installed, cant find a wiring diagram anywhere for this thing
