Procedure for coolant drain/refill?

Hi,

My '98 Transport is in the early stages of intake gasket failure I'm sure (no heat, coolant odour but no leak to the ground)...but I've put 15,000 clicks on it since I bought it in this condition.
The low coolant light started acting up a few days ago and I've been wanting to replace the coolant anyways with fresh as a matter of maintainence.
I've never dealt with 'bleed' screws and such (apparently there are two?... water pump and thermostat locations?)...what is the procedure for refilling the system properly?

Although a lot of fanfare goes with those bleeders, a normal engine WILL expell all trapped air in a matter of 2 or 3 operation cycles after a fillup, as air is soluble in water and it will reach the top of radiator and purge to the reserve tank. THe consequence is when cooling, the engine will pull back reserve fluid to replace expelled air and after these 2 or 3 cycles, you might have to redjust reserve tank level. If you do NOT want to come back for this , then the purge through bleeders is a suggestion.
Those engines that continually exhibit borborigms "generate" ther own misery by adding air and exhaust into the cooling system through gasket leaks, and no bleed will correct that problem.

Oh...so I can just drain and refill then top up as needed over the next few days then?
Ya, I'll be keeping an eye on the coolant/oil/gasket issue...the oil is staying clean so far, but the coolant is kinda dirty, but it's probably old as well...so I want to change that and watch it from here on out.
