questions

hi my name is mike im from syracuse im new to this forum
i have a 97 galant 5-speed i havent done any mods to it and i just put a new altinator in before i did this with the clutch in it would idle at about 800 rpm and now that i did it it only idles at 500 rpm is that normal?

and does anyone know any good websites for parts because i would like to do a couple things to my car
