86 supra smoking really bad

when i started the car yesterday it idled fine and there is no antifreeze in the oil. I know the valve cover seals are bad but dont not think that that is why it is smohing really bad. When idleing it doesnt do it that bad but when i rev it up it cover my front yard in a smoke cloud it also has been sitting for a while. Could this be burnt piston rings
