right now this is still in the planning stages but i need to know how strong the stock internals of a 5.4L are. and if they'll be able to handle 500+hp. as well as what i'd need to do to get it to handle that.

i don't know that much about the mod motors so any help would be great.(i prefer the ohv ford V8s)

thanks alot

i don't care for the 5.4 as much as i liked the old 5.0's. Especially the newer engines with the spark plug troubles they've been having with them breaking in the heads. Ford also made the oil passageways smaller for some reason so if you don't use the recommended 5w30 in them you could be havin problems later. I use Amsoil synthetics for oil, transmission, and gears. It takes care of the dry starts and i shouldn't have to move up in weight at all. Its a big motor and can make some power. But as far as tricking it out to make 500hp....well i would strongly reconsider that move. Hope that helps. take care.
