Yes the clutch can be replaced.
A few special tools required.
But Make sure it is the clutch and not the belt slipping.
Does it squeal with ac off?
What is the high side on AC reading when it squeals?

because the the clutch makes noises with the a/c off.....you will need a new a/c compressor pulley bearing.....because of the age of this i would replace this with a scrap yard compressor or if a/c is not required use a pully bypass or belt change to bypass this compressor...if you don't do this it will sieze and you will be stuck....
yes the compressor can be repaired but it is rare for anyone to do this and the tools are not that available in my area... maybe you can find a shop that will repair this for less than 500.oo....a new one willl cost 800.oo total..

I repair those everyday in the warm months- I have all the tools and parts-- but I don't suppose you live in Ohio--I have seen belt squeal due to the belt being wrapped wrong on 5.7L engines- I don't suppose this is you case though

Check around.
You can get the compresser and clutch for just a little more than just the clutch.
O'Reilly has new compressers with clutch for 170 US $ and rebuilts for 130$.

Take the belt off and unplug electrical plugins.
And the unbolt compresser mounting bolts.
If replacing compresser you will need to be R-12 certified to pump out and recover any R-12 freon in it.
If the system is empty just unbolt compresser low and hight side lines.
Most new compressers come set up for the new R-134a gas.
You will need to replace reciever /dryer and install reto fit fittings for the R-12 to R-134a change over.
Canada may require certification for R-134a system repair or recharge.

Make sure you removed all bolts.
Some will be tight against bolt tighting sleves.
Take a big screwdriver or bar and move copresser fordard if it will move or just pry up and wiggle it and it should come out/off.
