Fujimi Enzo Ferrari

It had been 5 years ago that I have done the Tamiya version and days ago I have started the Fujimi Enzo Ferrari.

The out-looking between these two is quite similar but of course the Fujimi version is not with many details like, no openable doors and engine cover, simple engine, etc. However, this kit provides good fitment so far.

Getting start: The dashboard were drilled through and the rear window had been trimmed off the along the sides for the grilles.

I helped a friend to strat building his Revell Enzo and it looked OK to me.
Not Tamiya quality, but I've seen kits that are very poor compared with the Revel one.

Mic's Fujimi looks great too, very nice proportions and engraving!

There will be a lot less brake details etc. though with the revell... and engine details is no where near as good as tamiya's... I know you can put a lot of effort to make it look as good as the tamiya but TBH, if you do that, why not put the effort into working on the tamiya and make it breathtakingly awesome? lol. I wouldn't go and save a few pounds and get a revell kit unless i really need to... I have kinda made up my mind that I am not going to get any revell kits unless there are no other manufacturers making the same kit:smooch:

You have to realise that the Tamiya kit has some problems caused by it's complexity and tight engineering
i.e the doors and rear deck don't fit properly without some careful tweaking.
so it's far from the perfect kit.

Bizarrely, the Revell kit has much better looking oil reservoirs for the rear than the Tamiya kit does.

Then again, I like a challenge and as you say, when no one else makes a kit of a particular acr, what can you do eh?

I suppose saying it is garbage is harsh... But thier kits usually needs lots of work to make it nice and detailed... then thier wheels are difficult to make it look nice... Some kits are quite good but when they make bad kits, they are just terrible, no details, terrible fitting etc... Only thing it has going for it is a good set of decals but most of the other manufacturers equal thier decal standards anyway so I am not sure what people mean sometimes when they seem to give revell a special mention about thier decals...:rolleyes:

I just had a look at your website... I'm very impressed with the detail you manage to put into ur revell Enzo! But it seemed to have taken a lot of work though... like lowering etc... for a hobbiest - i.e. non pro or certainly not that much advanced skills like me, i just think that it is too complex for me to make it look nice, thats why i would just go for a more accurate kit OOB like tamiya without too much work, I can make it look fairly nice :)

for the enzo...it's the lowest quality kit overall. fujimi's got the perfect body but that's it. tamiya has all the engine & doors.

as for the rest of the ferraris, NO.
i appreciate revell's effort to put engines in their ferrari lines, fujimi are plain simple slot kits to me...kinda build it fast & forget type, tamiya are way too slow in producing the next super kit @ super price.

as such, i need every revell kits as parts donors for those details that i can't find in fujimi. tamiya is dropping out of the auto kit manufacturing race...

all 3 makers are crucial to me in complimenting each others' weaknesses in all my ferrari builds...there's far too little choices for 1/24 ferraris in my point of view.

revell's trying hard to produce new ferraris & therefore cutting corners in making them fast, fujimi's trying hard to give different decals & call them new kits, tamiya's experiencing a slow death...

but then i'm just a hobbyist, i don't give a damn what the makers are facing...i build to past time & hone my skills, not sharpening my business acumen. if not, i would have given up on car modeling years ago!

well i'll add to the revell kit accuracies...the seats...the shape a lot more accurate that Tamiya's...hence why I'll be using the revell seats..slightly modded in my Enzo build

other than that, I look forward to seeing more of this build..keep us updated man!

LOL, u gonna make an 'extremely detailed REVELL enzo build' ? It seems to be a different breed isn't...:lol2: To be fair, I haven't actually build the Revell Enzo myself yet but based on pass experience with other revell kits - i almost exclusively build supercars/ racing cars only and have build a few revells, i found most of them have fitting problems/ inaccuracies... I am just building the Revell 599 GTB:eek7: Don't ask me why when I've just been slating revell lol... The kit is actually quite nice but the annoying thing is i put in quite a lot of effort into making it look good only to have its appearance spoilt by inaccurate wheels... If I made the fujimi - which will be next on my list after i have finished my Carrera GT :D and Fujimi Mini for my mate... I think for the revell kits, you really need some pretty impressive skills to make it look good, if you have only just slightly more than your basic skills like me (I can't do scratch build) I would say Tamiya and Fujimi is fairly easy to build because I do not need to make much adjustments to make it more of a satisfactory build :smokin:

You see what I mean by the wheels? I know the brakes these days are a lot better than they used to be... But the wheel system just makes the car look bad... I know this is down to my skill too but you can expect everyone who buys a revell kit to be pros because they aren't :) You might be wondering why the paint scheme is different... well, I suppose i just wanted to have a different design from what i will have on my Fujimi which I will paint it in gorgeo Titano (i'm not sure if that is the correct spelling) - I noticed the lower wheel arch might need to be lowered too like the Revell Enzo but I am not too sure how to do that so I think I might just leave it:banghead:

don't worry...sooner or later you'll be tired of waiting for new kits but still building the same old kits, you'll start developing the art of scratchbuilding.

trust me, there comes a time you'll find that NOTHING (no kit) is interesting or worth to build anymore (thats, without any modification or scratchbuilding).

Ah, then that's the time you'll really feel THAT SATISFACTORY BUILD...a master piece you've just created.

Some more progress last night:-

The original cap was removed due to ease for CF. The rear suspension was removed as well and replaced by Sakatsu parts.

The body was painted with Finishers Lummi Red and clear coated. Now is waiting for polishing after few more days.

Obviously, if you are looking for easy building kit, go for Fujimi, but for me, I still need further amendment into it.

For the wind screen the Fujimi Enzo is looking differently so Tamiya and Revell kit would looks more like the real Enzo when compared to Fujimi kit.

It must of been a pain to remove the suspension of the chassis.... however it looks great with the sakatsu parts.

Use PE knife to cut the moulded suspension horizontally and then trimed off the rest by file.

Acturally, the sakatsu suspensions are designed for Tamiya Enzo which I have used them in my Enzo before.
