Bad Wheel Bearing?

2005 Silverado 47,000 miles has a loud grinding noise when turning right. Could this be a wheel bearing? Does not make the niose when driving straight or turning left. If it is a wheel bearing how hard is it to change out? It looks like it comes as a hub unit. The noise is coming from the drivers side btw. Thanks

Most are a hub assembley.
Any noise on the road about 35-50 MPH or change noise when you turn wheel a little to right or left going down road?
I would jack it up and have a look first.
Check for bearing being lose or noise spinning wheel when jacked up.
Could also be a brake caliper or pad or front axle problem.

The noise seems to be worse while cornering but not turning from a stop. I heard some grinding noise the other day while backing down a long driveway. The dealership did replace the brakes both rotors and pads before I bought it. I will look at it this weekend. The truck is 4wd. I have replaced the hub units on cars before but not on trucks. Not sure if it is the same.

Jack it up and have a good look.
Make sure pads and or backing plate is not rubbing.
4W drive truck are close to the same procedure outside of the axel drive shaft threw the center of it.
Some bolt of from the front ans some bolt on from back side.
Just watch the speed sensor/wiring.

Mine did the same thing a couple years ago...was the left front hub assembly.

your mileage 47,000mi if true and the dealer work rotors brake pads does not add up....this vehicle may have more than this many miles....
the noise with you very carefull observation sounds correct that the bearing is going....if so the abs may start to act up..
my 2000 required pads at 90,000mi...rotors look new..still 8yrs old..

My left front hub assembly went out at 55-60k miles
