99 Regal Keyless entry issues

So I walk up to my car, stand righ next to the door and press, press, press, press, press, press, press, press, press, hold for 3 sec, press, press, press, sigh, press and click! Unlocked!

Any clues? A new battery in the remote didn't seem to help (in fact, it seems slightly worse).

How does the other OEM remote work?-- if it is better- then time for a new remote-- if the same, then I'd go aftermarket for $30 off Ebay for a new keyless entry module with 2 new remotes.and 400 foot range....just my thoughts

Don't know. Got the car at auction for a good price, only had one remote. What do I need to look for in the new module?

Pop the remote back open and check for loose solder points, especially the battery contacts. Also, you can try re-syncronizing your remote (sometimes required after a battery change) by holding the lock and unlock buttons down simultaneously until the locks cycle (normally about 7-10 seconds).
