Enjoying the special things in life on a daily basis is a question of how demanding you are. The RS 4 meets these high demands thanks to its high sporting performance and highest-level comfort. It unites all the benefits of a high performance sports car with the family utility value of an Avant.

The V6 biturbo engine with a torque of 440 Nm (at 2500 rpm up to 6000 rpm), a sporting 6-speed gearbox and permanent quattro all-wheel drive accelerate the RS 4 from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.9 seconds - a truly special experience.
The brake system of the RS 4 derived from motor-racing ensures impressive deceleration. The high performance Avant also shows its claws on the outside too: flared wheel housing, front air inlets, 255 tyres with alloy wheels - beauty borne of function.

No I don't think so. Many I ask how old you are and what part of Europe you live in?

well I left supercar forum 'cause of those dumbasses. I use the net as a far distance communication system. I don't need that, there're way enough chats for that kind of stuff!

Man, I would love to have a home in Europe (someday I will), to see all the awesome cars. Are you sure you saw tons of RS4's? They're only making like 400.
Oh well, I've seen 3 NSX's, and I live in a village of 450! But the highway leading from Toronto goes behind my backyard, so every Friday and Sunday 4 million crazy city people flee to their cottages.

Oh yeah, I love that car! It is one of my life's missions to get one! It is amazing. A-ahhh.

I suppose I've been living under a rock or something, but what's the difference between an RS4 and a regular S4?

crayzayjay
02-27-2002, 07:45 PM
1. RS4 is an estate on steroids
2. RS4 has 375bhp, S4 "only" 265
The result is that performance in the RS4 is better (in terms of acceleration & top speed (4.8s vs 5.5 s 0-60 and 170mph vs 153mph)
however, S4 has superior handling

Your country is the richest in Europe , along with Denmark , but in denmark they have 170% (yeah almost double the car's value) import tax for passenger cars , you may not be that rich , but on averege swiss pepole are more wealthy than all the other countries in Europe (I'm not putting monaco in here). I have been to Zurich a couple times , i even have driven a motorboat (whoa;))there... You have nice cars mostly , what car do you have? If you ever came here to Poland you'll see that you're well off compared to most pepole here... Here internet is still considered a very luxurious thing

it makes sense that there are many RS4's in switzerland, after alll the car matches the roads perfectly. 4wd is perfect to negotiate twisty, wet/icy mountainous road in perfect luxury.
isnt switzerland a tax haven? that would certainly improve anyone's wealth :D

It is and isn't at the same time. let me try to explain if you have vast of money Switzerland is very pleasent. If not - well you can live but don't expect any luxury. Generaly you can earn a lot of money here but then you have to pay also a lot. e.g. Insurance, maintaineance and gas for a car with a 1.5 - 2.0l engine costs you about 3500 US$ a year as long you have nothing to repair and 1 liter (~1/4 gallon) gas you have to pay 1 US$.

well compared to Poland you quite right but you have to remember that social status in these two countries are not even. Living there or here is a big difference (my EX-Girlfriend is from Poland so I know life there a bit). The biggest problem here in Switzerland is that we have a couple of very rich areas (plus some very rich banks which improve the wealthiness of Switzerland to outsidrs but isn't usefull to any of low or mid status) but the rest is fighting to keep his mid or low level. Only couple of bad asses are luck enough to make the step from mid to rich mostly people fail loose more thant they could gain from it.:bandit:

Same story here in western Canada. Still a lot of money to be made, it's just only a few people are making it. I think it's the same, anywhere you go. I'm interested tho, in two things Bean.

1)What language do you speak most often in Switzerland? I know that people speak German, French, and English too.

2)Were there other Bean Bandit movies other than "Riding Bean"?

In Switzerland there are those languages you mentioned , but there is also a language that's called "rato-romanisch" in german , i don't really know how to translate it. Anyway thought in Switzerland you have 26 Kantons. That's something like states in the US or provinces in Canada , but a lot more smaller... Anyway you have 20 Kantons and 6 half kantons , so that gives 26 kantons like i've said , then there is only one kanton - toskania i think that's how it's called , it's quite big , but that's the only one where you speak italian , then there are 3 or 4 kantons by the french boarder where you speak french , and in the rest there is german... And about this "rato-romanisch" it's almost a dead language , spoken by some pepole in south-eastern Switzerland... Of course i'm not form there , so Bean Bandit probably knows better , so if I told something wrong , please don't hesitate to correct me...

1) We have 4 languages (sorted by most often to rare spoken): German French, Italian , Rumantsch. In North and East Switzerland people speak German. South - Italian, West - French and Rumantsch is an old language spoken by very few people in some valleys located in the eastern mountains.

2) Unfortunately you're right there's only this movie but the caracter apperars often in the serie Gunsmithcats also by Kenichi Sonoda.

always glad to help out

I'm impressed you're well educated. about this kanton with the italian speaking people it's called 'Tessin'(german name) or 'Ticino'(italian name).
Toskania is actually the Toskana and belongs to Italie (the tower of Pisa is in the Toskana)

Generally the language boarders don't fit the kanton boarders exactly but that way it's easyer to explain. about 70% of Switzerland speaks german but even there we have plenty of different idioms( compareable to northern and souothern english).

That's it for this weekend next lesson next weekend. and mid march latest news from the International Car show Geneva(french part)

Bean Bandit appeared in couple episodes of original manga but never in the Original Video Animation serie. Nice nick but it's very hard to be Bean Bandit in Switzerland. I've driven thru Switzerland couple times on my way to France and geez... it's a "police country". When you drive even a bit over the limit other people are calling traffic cops from their cellular phones! Everytime on the border they search my car for Anti-Radar or any other "strange" devices. Geeezas! Can I FART freely there without beeing noticed by the authorities?!

It ain't that bad... Sweden is a lot worse... It's like they thought that the car i was driving was stolen , and they put me into some kind of jail while cheking the car , but it was open (the room) so i got out of it ,because i wanted to see what they were doing around my car , and it really annoyed them , and when i asked them what if they put something in it and told me it was there before they started checking (you know like drugs or fake money) and they look suspicious at me , how could i even think they could do such thing...

Ah, the joys of living in Canada. Twisty mountain roads, the police are few, and far between. Also, they don't care if you have radar detectors... but they hate radar interference devices, but then again, it's not like they can see them.

Mr_Root

It's not bad living here as well. Beside shitty roads (not everywhere but quite oftern you have to watch out for your suspention) you can drive as fast as you want. Cops have their usual habbits so you know what to expect about them. Traffic cameras are few and... most of all, if a cop will stop you for speeding, in 90% of cases YOU CAN NEGOTIATE! I love it!
I heard Norway is even shittier than Sweden. Some local folks told me that some people are working as traffic cops during weekends in their free time. A Norwegian cop will stop his own mother and give her a ticket. They are not human, they are some kind of aliens :)

Ah, we have very nice roads. Very well kept. Resurfaced every 5 or 10 years. If there's a bad pothole, it gets fixed. For all the horrible things the government is doing to my province right now, they still got rid of fixed photo radar traps :D

Bean Bandit
03-09-2002, 06:04 AM
Well Switzerland isn't realy Racers Paradise but it's not too bad after a while you get used to it. We have a lot of fix placed radars but the police dosen't has enough money to use them all at the same time (they actualy have only around 77 cams in my Kanton for around 150 control posts). Anyway in west Switzerland you quite have to race cause they all do:D There's only one Kanton without fix placed Radars but there they have a lot of cops driving around.
Luck that Germany isn't far away (they stil have regions without speedlimits).:bandit:

Yeah , i'm glad for that too , i have around 300 kms to germany but it's not so far away , when my friend bought a 911 turbo we went to germany just to drive it like we stole it... On sunday from the midnight till 6 in the morning.... Nothing on the road , only the beautiful sound of the porsches air cooled 6 cylinder , we were driving between Munchen and Nurnberg a couple of times back and forth without any reason... It was fun , many pepole think it's crazy or patheric but it is fun... You say that still there are roads with no speed limit , i think that if they wanted to remove it they would have done it 10 years ago , cmon , pepole sometimes come to germany just to speed... like myself... Its a big attraction , pepole from France , Sweden , Denmark , Austria , Switzerland , Italy , Poland , Chech republic everywhere around germany they like driving in germany because you can go as fast as you want on the autobahns , not all , but still you can...

Darn right the whole country is full of inbred freaks. I'm of Austrian and Italian heritage, being in Norway made me feel like I was African or something. Ah, it's funny. I will be applying for Swedesh citizenship after I finish my education and sell my business here in Canada(now I walk because I can't afford to run a business and drive a Porsche for the next couple months).

They can be real bastards about it, but I'm 6'3 with blue eyes, really pale. and sandy hair that looks blond when it is short... Also, I will have my mechanical engineering, and piles of cash...

BTW, who has seen the movie going around on the net of the guys in the 930 <looks suspiciously at Tom> blasting around Stockholm?

Two cars, eh? I shall endeavour to find it...

As for the cop thing, I was suspicious when they ran towards the car. They always run back to their car, not towards yours! Not that I'd know of course, this would all be theoretical... ::rolleyes:

So how are you coming along with the 968 turbo idea? Or are you not driving your 952?

I think i'll buy a 968 coupe for that project , that'd be easier... i'll simply turbocharge the existing 16V engine , plus the 6-speed gearbox is already there... I'm looking for one that has some damage , e.g with broken and scratched bumpers , because i'll be changing them to fiberglass anyway... Btw wait for Getaway in Stockholm 3... we have a lot of issues with the cops but it's going to rock ... :bandit: http://www.getawayinstockholm.com/main.html

Im Sorry Tom_S8
but the first Getaway In Stockholm was mostly faked
There are two dead giveaways

1st - Is the Lighthouse about halfway through the movie - Its spinning at over 3 times the speed a normal lighthouse would spin.

2nd - Is the extreme motion blurring that occurs in the tunnels - this is a byproduct of using a video editing program called Adobe Premiere and happens when you speed up video by more than 2-fold. And since the colors in the tunnel are pretty much non-changing you can spot its presence.

I also have the second Getaway In Stockholm, but it doesnt seem to have any signs of being sped up- Im pretty sure it was, but not as much as the first (they probably were able to buy some real video editing equipment with the money they made from the first) - the second one does seem to be much more illegal tho.

Anyways they are a rush to watch.
And good luck! :)
