Checked your OBD1 (computer) for codes? If you don't have a scanner, you can use a jumper wire.
I have a Haynes manual. I looked under the "Hesitation or Stumble durting Acceleration" section. It says to check the following:
1. Ignition timing incorrect
2. Ignition system not functioning properly
3. Dirty or Clogged fuel injectors
4. Low fuel pressure. Check pump and lines for clogs.
I don't know as much as I would like , but but between my Haynes manual and this board, everything seems to come out in the wash...

Check the fuel pressure and spark plugs/wires/cap/rotor.

Had similar problem with 78 454 HD. Spark plug wires were failing. Had to go to 8mm wires.
