Lifting rear end

Here's a dumb question. When you guys need to lift the back end using a floor jack, what do you use for a lift point? The shop manual shows the center of the frame rail running across the back. But my car has dual exhaust (01 GP), and the crossover pipe gets in the way (not to mention that point is way under the car). And where do you put jack stands?

If you look under you will see part of the fram on each side. The part that the fuel filter bracket is bolted to. Thats where I usually jack on each side. Then I'll put the jackstands on the pinchwelds.

Thanks for the reply. Don't the pinchwelds bend when the car is lowered onto the stands?

No, the pinchwelds are a factory jackpoint when using the supplied screw jack in an emergency (such as a flat tire).
