Just figured out why my wipers don`t work.
The strut tower (5) popped of on one side, breaking about 6 welds. It's on the right (passenger) side. It`s only up on the engine side, the rest must have bent. I can actually see the spring from the engine compartment. I beleive I would have to pry it back in place and re-weld, or add metal strapping.
Anyone tried to repair this before? Does the complete apron panel (4) need to be replaced? I can see some rust along it's outside edges. Is this the end of my 428km van? I have another van that may have usable components.
This link shows the components involved.

OK..it is plastic outside, but rusting metal inside....too bad. MIne is '93 too.
I'm not an expert in body work..and in fact, I really do not like body work...but I suspect the original "apron" would have to be unwelded... these parts are more for reconstruction of a car that was involved in an accident with these parts already torn off.....

If possible, I would rather consider cutting the piece around as wide as necessary from a wrecked car and installing that from under to double the existing damaged structure....or some similar equivalent ...after removing the strut unit first, of course, complete with spring...
I wish you save her....
