Engine Paint Questions...

In the near future I will be repainting the enging and engine compartment on my 1500. I'm not sure what color to paint it. I thought about just painting it black. Does anybody have a link to a good step-by-step article for painting to engine compartment/engine?

Also, I don't have an HVLP set up. Would painting with an Aerasol Spary can be a No No? I would rather not pull the engine and risk creating problems just to paint the engine.

i wouldnt worry about repainting the engine compartment unless the rest of the truck is absolutely immaculate. if you dont have hvlp, they sell cheap ones at harbor freight for only about 50 bucks or so. you can get high temp spray paint from autozone-like stores, but you would have to mask off everything perfect to make it worthwhile to use the stuff

I'm not so much concerned about having a "show truck". I've pressure cleaned my trucks undercarriage and now I have a "brown" under carriage. I'm going to paint the inside of my fenderwells and the frame. I figured it would look pretty bad to have the frame nice and black with the engine compartment not painted to suit.
