Ignition key not turning

I have an 98 stratus, 2.4 L engine. The Ignition key is not able to turn. The vehicle is in Park. We have turned the steering wheel both to the right and to the left and still the ignition key will not turn. The battery is good. What else can I check before I take it to the garage?

I worked on a few cars that had a key so worn down that it wouldnt work. Id try another key if you have one. If the key goes all the way in then that rules out anything jammed in the ignition.
