fuel pressure regulator

i just bought an aem fpr and i was wondering, do you install it after the fuel filter? i just want to make sure before i do it, because i dont want it to be wrong. thank u

after the fuel rail.

You install in the stock location, between the fuel rail and the return line.

Not to be a dick, because that is not my aim at all, if you dont know where it should go then you should have help from a friend or have it done by a shop. If it was something that wouldnt have serious repercussions if installed wrong, such as a short throw or a catback, then I'd say use it as a learning experience. However, if you install a FPR wrong there is any number of bad things that can happen such as an engine fire or a mis-set fuel pressure.

Yea if you set your fuel pressure incorrectly or its not functioning properly you might run very lean and knock your engine out as soon as you hit boost.

i know all about the pressure and where it goes and stuff. its just i bought the FPR off my buddy out of his talon but he wasnt sure if he had it in the right spot so i just wanted to make sure. because i put a bigger fuel pump in so i want to be able to set it at the right pressure when i get a sticker or whatever i do. thanks for the help

i said DONT ask... i stripped the f*cking thing! because my gauge was upside down... lol... had to re-tap the FPR, and dye the gauge... all is well now! lol :banghead:

thanks. i got the fpr out of my buddies 95 talon so it is set at 41, i was wondering why it was running richer now. thanks im going to turn it down to 39. and im putting a walbro 255 pump in tomorrow, should i leave the pressure at 39? or go up alittle?

The reason you buy a fpr is so that it can keep the fuel pressure stock even when the fuelpump wants to flow more. Don't increase the pressure.

ok, i just installed the 255 pump and fpr. and i adjusted the pressure to 39 and the car runs great. it runs better then before and sounds more throwty. thanks for ur help, import wars ate new england drag way on june 28th, im going. hope to see some of u up there
