I don't know. Not quite what I was thinking it was going to look like. Not bad, but just different than what I was anticipating. It looks a bit like a rear engine Cadillac CTS . . . I'll have to ponder these photos a bit before really deciding on it.

It's more beautiful than what I expected actually. And hey, that looks like the Murcielago Roadster Concept rims! Aren't they the same? It looks smaller here.
This car seems to be easier to drive than the Murcielago. And it looks more 'friendly' to the driver, don't u think? It's more like you can drive it everyday (compared to the Murcielago although I know Murci is made to be a daily driver) However the Murcielago looks more fierce.

Those rims look to be a bit different than the roadster concept.
Perhaps I was thinking that the tail in was going to be a bit more rounded?
It almost seems as if they were trying to "tone" down the car from looking too exotic.
Hey I think I have proved myself time and again on this board for being a Lambo lover, that said, the 360 Modena looks better . . . I know don't hate me. I love all cars.
Again, not bad looking, different.:D

Is it just me or do the pics not look real, except for maybe the interior shots, the outside pics look like 3D renders, the shadows and hi-lights seem weird for a professional shoot. Just my opinion that's all.
If they are the real deal then I think it is very exotic and a true representation of a Lamborghini, exotic styling, unique and stunning. Good job Lamborghini, this car (if real) will kick Ferrari and Porsche into the mud.

The pictures do look a bit "digital" if you know what I mean. That engine is a gem and should surely give Ferarri and Porsche something to thing about.

I totally agree, we'll just have to wait 2 more days???? for the official release, it is going to be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show right?

I can't find where the gearstick is from the interior picture in that link. Don't this car have a gearstick??? Sequential manual only?
raven1822
03-04-2003, 09:08 AM
paddle shift only or E-Gear as they are calling it.

I agree. I like a traditional "H" pattern manual. I absolutely love a sequential manual (on floor) like the FIA-GT cars.
Does anyone know if this E-Gear set up still requires the use of a clutch or is computer controlled ie 360 Modena.
I would not mind the shift paddles, but I would like to still have clutch control.
I am not sure but doesn't the new M3 SMG still use a clutch with the sequential gear box????
This would be nice.

the rear looks really.....square or rectangular :(

I will say that the real pictures look better. The family resemblence can be seen in the front. The back is . . . ah, ah, . . . OK, I guess. A little to square. A nice round Murci rearend would look better. It almost looks like they are going back to the Diablo days.
The tail lights should be "binned".
The engine cover is all the business though.
Overall not bad, I'll take mine in Titanium!!:D :D

I like it, the Official Press Release photos Menu posted, thanks by the way Menu, it looked like a Hot Wheels or Matchbox car. When I saw the pics from AutoWeek though I really do like it now. I think it will just take some time to get use to the design, it is a little different but thats what I like.

i do like that engine cover...it is glass right? That only minor problem with it, woul dhave to be the rear, which i think would be the problem with most people in here

It's Cala all the way Digital, resembles it pretty closely. The size and from headlamps are definately similar to the Cala.

Looking at the back picture the engine cover does look a bit like a 80's Testarossa. Very nice. Im not a big fan of the headlights, but they will probably grow on me. Looking at the side profile shot DigitalOxygen just posted you can tell the car is shorter with a steeper angle.
I love the intakes on the door, really angular and sharp.

It looks a bit like Cala in some ways... But Cala is much more beautiful. I wished they released Cala instead.

I don't care what you all say, this car is gorgeous. I like this more than the Cala. This beats the hell out of the 360. The front end is gorgeous, and every line on the car blends together beautifully, including the squarish rear. It's not what I anticipated, it's better. I love it. The beast Lamborghini since... the Murcielago. ;) :D

^ that's the big problem with everybody, but even without the "trademark" doors it's still a sweet car :D

Do you notice that there seems to be a new trend in the cars' rear brake lights? They tend to curve more upwards to the boot, for examples Nissan 350Z. And the same goes for Gallardo. They probably want helicopters to see them! :alien2: :D

A few poeple made comments about the brakelights stretching over the rear deck. If you think it would look better, think again...

yup:D ,:o oh well at least the car still look good no matter which way it goes, as long it looks good, but if it had the scissors doors then lamborghini would lose a lot of money because less people would buy the murcielago, but even if the gallardo did have the scissors doors i would still perfer the murcielago for some reason i like it a whole lot better:p :D

I think it is more of a Murci/Cala mix... I take this over the Cala... And I guess it is just that Lamborghini wants you to pay the extra $$$ for the Murci to get the fancy doors.
jim501
03-10-2003, 11:17 PM
I think it is a good idea to have the different doors. When the Murciel came out people complained that it was to much like an evolution of the diablo then a whole new car. This way they can keep the two models different which I think is better for all.
I think the car looks great. I wanted the two cars to look a bit different, but still be able to look at them and know they are Lambos
