i just bought a second hand factory gm cd player and hooked it up in my venture, i turned the key back and the raido and cd player worked, this morning i went out and started the van to leave and the raido and cd player won't work, it says LOC on the display, i have read in outer sites about holding down the #2&3 preset buttons at the same time and a code should apear, i get nothing no matter what i try, i called the local gm dealer here and they said $50.00 plus labour time to reset it, anyone have any help for me, i really don't want to pay gm that much to reset a factory deck.

This is what Alldata says about it:
IMPORTANT: Either the Customer's code or factory backup code may be used in order to remove the Customer's code.
1) Hold the pushbuttons 1 and 4 for about 6 seconds until the display changes to SEC, with the radio in the OFF posistion.
IMPORTANT: The theft deterrant is already deactivated and no code is stored if the display changes to a series of dashes.
2) Press the HR button
3) Set the first two digits of the code (0-19) with the HR button.
4) Set the next two digits (0-99) of the code with the MN/MIN button.
5) Press AM/FM in order to enter the code.
6) The theft deterrant is deactivated. A series of dashes will display, then the clock will display.
Now the only problem is, is that you will either need the unlock code for your radio, or the factory unlock code. I dont beleive it would be your new CD player thats locked, rather your radio locked up not having been unlocked before recognizing new hardware, sort of like a computer does. Often times a dealership can help you find the unlock code if you own the vehicle and even heard of them walking you through it. Good luck!

Also, try this to obtain code. I got this from another site so I take no credit. Please post results for future viewers. Thanks!!
This is the process for the CD deck. I assume it's the same for any 88-90 deck with the DelcoLok system. It may also work with 90+ DelcoLok I units.
1. Press and hold presets 2 and 3 for about 5 to 10 seconds until you
get 3 digits on your display. This is the first 3 of 6 digits you will
need, so write 'em down. (mine were 881)
2. After doing step one and writing down the code, immediately press the
AM/FM button to get the last 3 of the 6 numbers you'll need, and write
'em down. (if you wait too long between steps 1 and 2 and the LOC code
displays again, just start over). (mine were 322)
3. Call this number, it's a prerecorded message, so don't worry about
having to talk to anyone...1-800-537-5140. The voice will ask if you're
calling for Chevy, Pontiac, Cadillac (http://www.automotivehelper.com/topic181594.htm#), etc... When you hear this,
press 1 for chevy, followed by 02107and hit the * key. (i.e. 102107*) He'll ask you for the 6 digit code that you've written down.(mine was 881 322) Enter that and press the * key. He will then give you a code,(mine was 810 891)
4. To unlock the radio:
A. Turn the ignition on.
B. Press “SET” (000 appears on display).
C. Press “SEEK until the first digit of the code appears.
D. Press “TUNE" until the second and third digits
E. Press "AM-FM" (000 appears on display).
F. Press “SEEK” until the fourth digit of the code appears.
G. Press “TUNE” until the fifth and sixth digits of the code appear.
H. Press "AM-FM". Now the radio can be turned on.

i have tried pushing the 2 &3 buttons abd tried the 1 & 4 buttons, i get nothing but "LOC" when i first turn the key ahead it says SEC but about 1 second later "LOC" is there i can't get past this step, when i unplug the cd player and plug it back in i can use it, but as soon as the key gets flipped forward, you guessed it"LOC" apears again. i even when so far as i found in another forum as to leave the key turned ahead for 1 hr and you can start over to get the codes, something about after trying 8 times it won't do anything till you leave the key turned ahead for 1 hour. any other help with this, i am really stuck now.
