Wide Tires

I've wide tires on my '95 G-20 custom van. Does having that extra width up front create additional problems for the power steering pump?

I've noticed it dripping a bit over the past few years, but have never gotten up under her to torque down anything. I keep an eye on the reservoir, and keep it topped off with fluid. No 'squeaking' or chattering from the unit at any time.
