hello,

I have a 88 dx hatch and last night i ran it kind of hard and this morning its been acting up. When its not warmed up, its fine but when it reaches operating temp, it has a low end hesitation. When i ease the clutch out, it surges and almost stalls somethimes. I got a new air filter since mine was dirty as hell. Could it be foulded plugs? Plese help!!!

88dx with high-flow cat, custom 2 1/4" mandrel bent, Apexi N1 canister. Car is gutted and waiting for a b16a.

SO basically you're sayin that your car is bogging. I'd check the cap and rotor and plugs. It could be fuel problems also. Try replacing the fuel filter also.

You coulda stirred up some crap driving it hard and clogged something in the fuel system (injector, filter, etc..)

Checking the condition of the plugs is the best way to determine what is happening in the combustion chamber...I don't know the actual readings from the plug, but almost every Chilton's manual (about the only thing it is good for :bloated: ) has a great two page color chart about what different looking plugs mean..it could help determine if you are running lean, burning oil, etc..

Definitely start with easy stuff like new plugs and a fresh fuel filter..NGK's are about $0.96/each and a fuel filter is about $15.

ok, I got a new air filter, put in the plugs, and i bought a fuel filter but have yet to put it in. Now the engine runs hot, the needle wavers around 3/4 high. Then the radiatoi steams and leaks a little. I have a new radiatior which i will install this weekend. Could I need a new water pump? The car really doesnt bogg down anymore, but is slow at first. Whats the Deal and what do i need to do?

Thanks for the help
