Motor Swap

I need a motor for my 91 lumina. The motor in it right now is a 3.1 tbi. What i would like to know is can i change it to any motor thats a 3.1 even if it is a 3.1 sfi/mfi or efi? Does it matter of the year of the motor as long as it is a 3.1?

The problem is the electronics. TBI electronics is incompatible with multiple injectors . I think you would have to consider swapping the intake manifold and keep the TBI system and mechanical distributor....
