This is my new project.

The Toyota Supra from Tamiya:

What's inside of the kit?

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_002~20.jpg

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/inhoud_003~19.jpg

I think the Supra is just beautifull from itself. That's why I'll keep it mostly stock.
The original wheels are a pain in the eye, so I changed them for Pegasus 23'' Phat Daddies.

I also have a custom made exhaust.

The body will be painted metallic black.

I love Supra's, they are beautiful cars. Are there going to be any custom parts under the bonnet?

Last days I painted the body Metallic Black.

Today I added some CF on the frontlip and some manufactor logo's on the sideskirt and rearbumper.

1 micro mistake. I think I'll leave it or paint it gun metall. It's hard to see in real life.

I worked on the supra last days. I clearcoated it with Gunze Gloss clear. It was the first time I used this clearcoat but I think Tamiya's clearcoat works better....

Might just be the light, but it looks a bit yellow in those last pics. Like the rim choice and the cf work. Are you going to keep the interior stock too or "race it up" a bit?

Realy loving the color on this one!

Keep it up ;)

I think it's the light :P It's really black in reallife....

the interior will be stock but maybe some CF details. I think I paint it black/red.

Yesterday I polished the body.

After that I painted the windowtrims semigloss black.

You can still see some polishcompound in the panellines :P I'll remove it tonight.

Yes, way to clean...throw some dirt at it!

kidding, kidding!

You must have posted the polished body pics when the site was being slow, or when everyone was at work. I personally LOVE what you are doing here. I can't wait to see more progress. God knows the only progress I ever see is from other people....than me that is.

don't worry, the work you're doing is great.

I gotta say, I remember your first builds, and you've gotten so good by now.

Great pictures, and wonderful builds.
I usually view your threads.

After a bussy period, I tryed to do some work on the Supra last days.

First I painted the chassis flat black.
Now I can paint the engineroom and put the engine in it.

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_002~6.jpg

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_003~6.jpg

I also lowered the suspension. In fact I placed the discbrakes higher in the wheelbay :) Simple but effective :D

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_004~5.jpg

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_005~4.jpg

You can see the exhaust hanging on the pics. I made a custom exhaust because the original looks like nothing. I also weatherd the exhaust and also the chassis.

And some dryfit photo's

http://albums.modelbrouwers.nl/coppermine/albums/userpics/10027/chassis_014.jpg

Now it's time to finish the body and start working on the interior.

Looking good but I'd have gone with PE brakes. Those kit parts look too plain/plastic and seem to take away from the "realism factor"

I just finished the interior.

I used brown/creme for the main colours. Black interiorflocking for the carpet and thrunk.

I used a radiofront, sportsteeringwheel and some PE Sparco pedals from CrazyModeller.

Great work so far - will have to go to the completed section right now. I think this Supra would have to be one of Tamiya's best ever kits, and you have done it justice.
