I have 96 town car and the O/D light flashes on and off. I have the switch turned on so it's not that problem. Has anyone ever had that problem. I've noticed my gas milage is starting to get worse. :banghead:

I'm looking through the FSM for more answers, sometimes it can be overwhelming...
Here's a bit of warning info from the Owners Manual:

There's something wrong with the overdrive, there's probably
a DTC code stored in memory.
When the Torgue coverter slips, the system will generate a DTC.

I read on another forum somewhere that the flashing light is an indicator of a malfunctioning Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). It's located on the tailshaft of the trans and it's real easy to swap out & relatively cheap & readily available @ any auto parts store. You don't even need to jack the car up to do it. Good luck.

I had a 1995 Windstar minivan, which I replaced two VSS for the same type of problem.
It's worth the time + money doing it yourself, unless you got $1500-$3000 to give to Transmission shop.
How did you get your pix to move?
