My time might be coming to an end here on the forums.

I didn't expect thing to end up getting this far. To fill everyone in, my major in college in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology. I should be graduating this year since its been 4 yrs since i graduated from high school. But I have been in college for 5 years right now and I have 27 more credits to go before i get my BA. This spring I have taken 3 law enforcement exams along with a civil service exam. NYS Trooper, Onondaga County Sheriffs, Dept. Of homeland security Customs and border protection.
I still have no idea how i scored on the trooper exam nor does anyone yet. The sheriffs i scored an 85 ( not the best but not the worst) and out of the 3 the Border patrol was the hardest test of my life. The other 2 tests were a re-tard test testing common knowledge. Border patrol tests logical reasoning, foreign language learning ability ( you either have to take their Spanish or their own language they make out out of their ass and figure it out out of a booklet in 1h45mins) and personality judging questions. I walked out of this test thinking i surely failed it was that hard. Two weeks later, I get my results back with a 79, my friend who's done better than me on in class exams got a 72. Since its worse than my sheriffs I didn't think I was going to go anywhere..
St. Patrick's day 2 weeks later while going home drunk from partying, my mom picks me up from college to go home and get my sunfire from the body shop. While still drunk and laughing, on the seat is a huge envelope from Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS) and inside was my tentative selection notice.
...FUCK.... I sobered up reaaal quick. ( I've got a yr left of college)
It took me a week to gather up everything and complete their application for background check and sent it all back to them.. Here is my progress so far with them. I was told it normally takes 4-5mos, but shit... things are flying for me.
*Background check --------------- Pending
*Drug test------------------------ Pending
*Board of Review ----------------- May 6th-Latham NY
*Fitness and medical exam -------- Passed
Now I'm sure your thinking, border patrol eh. He lives in NY its probably on the Canadian border. Nope... If i take this job, I will have to drop everything and everyone here in NY and move to somewhere between Texas and California (god i hope not cali, my car won't even pass emissions) and then the academy is in Artesia, NM for 5 mos before i get permanently stationed at my post.
I have no idea what this is going to do to my car love life. :uhoh:

I know I speak for all of us when I say that you'll be missed.
You're always quick to throw ur hand in and help someone that needs help. You know WAYYYYYYYY too much about Cavaliers and you share that with everyone...
I know I poke my head in from time to time to keep an eye on you kids... so maybe you'll just end up like me :)

I'm glad i've been able to help all of you as much as i have. Its not over for me and the j-body scene. I will more than likely own one till I am very old and probably pass one onto my kids. Just if i do make it somewhere with this career. I am going to have to put everything to a hault as i will really need to study while at the academy. I need to be fluent in Spanish. I am taking it in college now and i swear its the devil. One nice thing, is I don't have to drag a g/f through all this with me since i broke up with her earlier this year and have been enjoying my college life. My salary will be pretty deacent with the mandatory 8-10 OT thats unavoidable every week. Which boils down to making 25% more in your sallery per/ year. Hmm.... i think i will be doing really well and will make a great come back after i pay off my college loans in 2 years or so.
I'm just glad the only debt i have is college loans. My CC get paid off at the end of every month.
But yea, i'll still lurk around. I'll let everyone know when i Officially disappear for a good amount of time. I'm going to miss RD Fabs and all my free shit i get from working there.

Well not worry anymore, Here's whats happened since I posted this....
Got a notice in the mail being found not medically cleared due to my vision uncorrected being 20/200, they want 20/100 at worst. I was going to have this waived and not be an issue...
Passed my orientation in front of 3 other border patrol agents
Thought i was in the clear till I got a phone call Friday night from a Background investigator from the federal government....Have me on 2 fuck ups I did one semi reacent, and one back in 2003.
Tried Pot a couple times in 2003
Arrested in 2006 for supplying alky to another minor, But i had this expunged from my records, but the bigggy was the drug trying way back when.
So instead of having them fully completing the background check, and being stuck with those finding on my record for life, showing I had a federal background check and not found suitable because of the 2 things, I had to withdraw from further consideration for at least another 2-3 years to let those incidents mature to at least 7 years in the past.

I actually had an epiphany while at Carlisle, PA's Performance and Style show back in early May about this whole deal actually. I spent the entire weekend with everyone at RD Fabs, and was starting to feel like shit having to leave them all behind and what working there would eventually lead to down the road if we play our cars right.
Since we're the ones who built Jason Ellis's drift mustang and not the team in which the car belongs to.... :P
All of us there already have sponsorship through Kinetik batterys and Dunlop tires. Next spring I am going to write a lot of companies to see what other kind of sponsors I can rack up seeing I would be in the "wild" class for j-bodies because of the extensive motor swap this really is.
