Hello, I'm new to this forum, hoped someone can help me.
I own a 2002 Chevy Express van. I live in Canada, but the van is from the U.S. , if that makes a difference.
I recently returned from a holiday. I drove to a job and barely made it home, it was stalling badly.
I have a code reader and it read PO 443 P. Which is a emmission control system purge valve C fault.
I'm a carpenter, not a mechanic, butI would like to fix this myself. What steps should I take? Any help would be appreciated!

I've replaced my share of purge valves on GM's. Its probably stuck open. On the 6.0 it is on top of the intake plenum behind the throttle body.

Thanks, can I get some more input? Like what it looks like? Do I have to remove the dog house to get to it? How do I un-stick it? Should I just buy a new part and relpace it while I'm at it? Pictures would help me alot. I've googled it, but can't find much about it other than it's also called a EGR valve. Again, I'm not too wise about engines, but I need to fix this. Thanks again.

Depending on what van and what engine.

The code is for the control circuit for plurge solenoid.
Code does not say replace solenoid but check wiring and control circuit out.
You need to get and go threw the repair flow chart for that code.
Check the wiring and hoses and see if the solenoid is working.
You may need a engine capable scanner to do some of the testing and checking on it.

For pictures and a how to and a repair flow chart for that code.
I would suggest a good factory repair manual or a All data online sub.

I went to alldatadyi.com and registered. The instructions were very good. I removed the part, checked the valve and cleaned the contacts.Whatever I did, it worked. Started up and seems to to running fine and no check engine light. I'll see if it stays that way. At least I know what it is and how to replace it, Thank you for the help!!

You are welcome.
Glad it is working.
Yes All data is good professional repair information.
Could have just been a bad connection.
Good luck MT
