hmm, how to get Cubans

So I've got this girlfriend that is from the Caribbeans (I know right!?) And she brought me back a genuine Cuban cigar as a gift, because she knows I love cigars. I can safely say now though that those who downplay it's appeal did not get what I got. Now I'm wondering how to get my hands on a good box of 'em.

I'm a little weary of the internet stores, for obvious reasons.

Anybody have any ideas? DAMN, why can't I live closer to Canada!?

Find a Cuban restaurant or bar around you and look for the fat Cuban wearing sunglasses and a Fedora.

Don't forget to hide your stash in a tampon box (in case its x-rayed) when bringing them back.....

no, not really, it just sounded cool...

Go to Canada or Mexico, buy Cubans legally, have them relabeled, bring cigars back into country.

I'll require three cigars for that information.

Oh CIGARS...I thought you were talking about Cuban PEOPLE. I was going to say just go to Florida when the seas are calm and they start floating in on innertubes.

i brought back a box from the bahamas when i went onto a cruise earlier this month. i declared 50 bucks on the sheet, and they asked what the 50 bucks was on, i said t-shirts, and they let me through. simple as cake. and they say they are improving immigration laws for drugs...

Just get a few investors to go in on hiring some Cuban people to roll them here so they are legal. Just make sure they aren't actually Dominicans, or your investors will back out and the Dominicans will go to work at a crape restauraunt and be taken advantage of by the owners, learn about communism, and then hi-jack an airplane to Cuba.

learn about communism

Communism works about as well as prohibition did and the Cuban embargo does, the market always finds a way around it. The Rum runners have been replaced by the cigar smugglers, but cigars don't seem to have the same broad appeal that rum did and LE has gotten better. If you don't have a large Cuban community near you join a cigar club or build a relationship with a local smoke shop and you'll find a local supplier.

That was a reference to a Seinfeld episode where Kramer does exactly that, I wasn't suggesting that cuban cigars are so good because they're made by commies.

Because of an embargo on Cuban products... although, cigars do kill far more people than guns do.

My ass they do.

Anyway, yeah it's because of the embargo. Most Western nations outside the US also put a lot of tax/duties on them as well.

counterfeit cuban cigars in that link. Haven't tried them personally but, it claims to taste, smell, and look just like a cuban. Only legal.
