So I get my car back in two weeks. But I'm thinking about selling it. It's a 99 Civic SI Coupe, with custon red and black leather interior. Would you guys buy it if I had it up for $12,000?

Soo wwaaaaiiiit a minute. What happened that you're getting it back in two weeks? Why's it gone, if I may ask? Why would you wanna get rid of a 99 Si? What is to replace this fine automobile?

Ok here's the thing. Car got in a four car accident. Stupidass me was at fault. Insurance pays for all the repairs so the car's goin to be fine but I probably have to put it down a couple of thousand cause it was in a crash. Car has 51kmiles; that's about 12750 a year. The reason why I would sell it is cause of insurance. Rates will be off the wall cause I was at fault. I'll probably end up with an EG hatch or something.

yep even if it has been fixed it is no more likely for something to go wrong down the road. keep the car if you can afford insurance. but there again there is always someone looking for an si to buy. hell if i had the money i would probably buy one too but i certainly wouldn't buy a one that has been wrecked before catch my drift?

IMO you should and then save up for a turbo there was a si that was turbo'ed around here is was damn fast it had the greddy kit on it. i talked to him a few weeks ago and he took the turbo off and he is supercharging it now. i say keep it if you can afford it

Yeah I got a Florida Shop that could give me a Custom Turbonetics Turbo Kit. Would probably put me around the 220-240hp range

Course, if you dont wanna keep it, cause a 4 car wreck is nuthin little, theres always the option of parting it out. It's a REAL pain in the ass, but if you have the time and space to do it, its an option. But yeah IMO I would keep it too, too tough to get rid of (being honest at least) and it is a nice car, just build it up. :)

stock si has 130 hp i dont think a turbo alone is gunna get you those numbers, and if it those your engine wont last long.

Wha? This is a 99 Si he's talking about.... The one with a factory B16a.
Try 160 hp. But thats at the flywheel.

Actually South Florida Performance down here has a nice turbo setup for $4000 dollars. If I rebuild the engine to be low compression I can give it 21 pounds of boost and have it runing around 450 hp. And the stock hp is about 140-145 on the dyno.

yah for 21 psi of boost you need new internals that are low compression but thats not all. youd need to upgrade your fuel and ignition for that much boost. and i dont think 21psi will get you 450. i know of a 28psi integra type r that puts down 475. 21psi on an Si will not give 450hp but close. not to mention youd need to strengthen the clutch and i dont know if the axles can take that much power. but as i said, for 21 psi of boost 4k will not cut it. fuel and ignition only would cost you close to that.

Here is what the turbo kit includes ($3999).
-Custom SFP Turbo Manifold
-Custom SPec. T3, T4 Turbo
-SFP Downpipe
-Front MOunt Intercooler with SFP Pipes
-Turbonetics External Wastegate
-HKS Blow-off Valve
-FMU (I think that stands for Fuel Management Unit)
-255 LPH Fuel PUmp
-Upgraded Injectors
-Blockguard
-Apex-i AFC with Custom SFP Fuel Map
Obviously that doesn't include clutch, axels, and exhaust.
Here's the quote from their Turbo Civic.
This Civic has ran 11.48 @ 128mph, currently the car produces 449.5hp @ 21psi at the wheels.

yah i bet that civic doesnt just have that bolt on kit either. and is it daily driven? if so, how far? i doubt it sees more then the weekend dragstrip. and that kit still isnt enough to run 21 psi of boost on a stock internal b16. your rods would snap like twigs under that kind of boost. think that rods and pistons in parts alone would cost you another grand. figure it out
