There is a thread a bout tune ups of the 3.1. In this is thread was tool discussed to rotate the engine and other ways to rotate the engine forward. By rotating the engine can one change the oil pan gaskets on a 3.8 or must the engine be removed? Seems it has to be removed.
I need to change them and also the valve covers. Even the valve covers appear to be pretty much buried on the 3.8.
Thanks!

I'm not sure about the pan gasket, but on my 3.1 93 Lumina removing the engine looks like the answer. Yea they don't make these to work on very easy. Thank God I haven't had much to work on. 237,000 miles and going good. Hope it stays that way for sometime.
